Professor Nachi Chockalingam holds academic positions in the UK, Malta, and India, collaboratingwith researchers worldwide. A Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics and the Instituteof Physics and Engineering in Medicine, he has also been awarded Honorary Fellowships by theRoyal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Podiatry.
With a distinguished research portfolio of over 300 manuscripts, alongside numerous abstracts,book chapters, and lectures, Professor Chockalingam is widely recognised by leading scientificsocieties. He serves on the boards of international scientific organisations, contributes as an editorfor multiple journals, and reviews for various academic publications and grant bodies globally.
His current focus is on translational research, particularly in integrating allied health professionalsinto biomechanics and medical engineering. Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration andgender equality in research, he actively mentors students and early-career researchers.
A key area of his expertise lies in the aetiopathology of scoliosis, and he currently serves as thepresident of the International Research Society for Spinal Deformities. His contributions also extendto charitable organisations, supporting global initiatives on healthy ageing and mobility-assistivetechnology.
