Michał Latalski MD, Prof.

Prof. Latalski graduated from the Medical University in Lublin. He is the Head of the Department and Clinic of Pediatric Orthopedics at the Medical University of Lublin. A specialist in orthopedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system, his main scientific interests include pediatric spine surgery, neuroorthopedics, distraction osteogenesis, and modeling of growth plate activity. He is a member of the Polish Society of Pediatric Orthopedics, EPOS (European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society), and the Polish Spine Surgery Society.
Prof. Michał Latalski specializes in the diagnosis and both conservative and surgical treatment of congenital and acquired musculoskeletal disorders in children and adolescents.
In his presentation, the professor will outline a comprehensive approach to the treatment of neuromuscular scoliosis in children. He will discuss a detailed monitoring program for scoliosis progression, tailored to the patient's age and type of condition, including the recommended frequency of X-ray examinations. He will focus on analyzing changes in patients’ quality of life following surgical scoliosis treatment, identifying the variables that show improvement.
